Hosney Yosef
OBE
Hosney Yosef qualified from the University of Cairo Medical School in 1965 and has practised for over 30 years at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. He has played a leading role in the development of services with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, particularly in breast and gastrointestinal cancer as well as head and neck malignancy.
He has served as a member of the Medical Research Council; the Faculty Board for Clinical Oncology of the Royal College of Radiologists; the Council and Oncology Committee of the British Institute of Radiology (which he served as Chairman); the West of Scotland Managed Clinical Network; and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) guidelines Scottish Audit Group. In addition he is the Past President, Secretary and Member of Council of the Scottish Radiological Society.
Hosney Yosef has participated and played a leading role in major clinical studies in breast, gastrointestinal, lung and head and neck cancer with publication in numerous leading medical journals.
He is a Director and Medical Advisor to the charities Kilbryde Hospice and OCHRE for oesophageal cancer.
His specialist expertise includes breast cancer; head and neck cancer; and gastrointestinal malignancy (both upper and colorectal).
Hosney Yosef was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services in medicine in December 2005
